At Avantgarde Tattoo, we offer you the opportunity to learn the art of tattooing with training in English , in the heart of Barcelona. Whether you live here or are coming from abroad, we have designed a program so you can start or perfect your technique surrounded by professional tattoo artists who dedicate themselves to this every day. You also have the option of taking the courses online.
Our commitment is to train future tattoo artists with sound judgment, technique, and confidence , providing a comprehensive experience in one of Europe's most renowned studios. This is not just another course: it's a fully immersive experience in the real world of tattooing.
Our courses for tattoo artists in English
Training with us means immersing yourself in a real, active, and transformative learning experience. You won't be sitting in a theoretical classroom memorizing concepts, but learning alongside practicing tattoo artists, in a professional environment, and with tools used daily in the industry.
The classes are taught in English , and if you wish, you can purchase a complete professional kit to continue practicing both during and outside of the course. The support doesn't end when the course finishes: you'll have ongoing support from your tutor via WhatsApp for 12 months , with close follow-up to help you resolve doubts, improve your technique, and stay in touch with the community of students and instructors.

WHAT DOES THE TATTOO COURSE IN ENGLISH INCLUDE?
Gain experience from one of Barcelona's most famous tattoo studios , a teaching method adapted to each person to offer the Avantgarde quality guarantee in the initiation of the art of tattooing.
No prior knowledge is required to take the tattoo course in Barcelona ; we start from scratch and include the option of obtaining the approved Health and Hygiene Certificate in our courses.
Week 1: Tattoo Basics
- History of tattoos: tribal, Japanese, old school, neo-traditional, etc.
- Knowledge of materials and types of machines.
- Skin anatomy and healing processes.
- Drawing straight, curved, overlapping lines.
- First designs and how to adapt them to the body.
Week 2: Shading and Color Techniques
- Introduction to shading and filling techniques.
- Shadow by accumulation, pendulum and solid fill.
- I work with flash tattoo and complex compositions.
- Application of color and dilutes.
Week 3: Volume, pointillism and color
- Creating volume with shadows and lights.
- Introduction to pointillism and its use in mandalas and lettering.
- Advanced composition and design for the body.
- Combined practices: lines + shadows + dots.
Week 4: Final Project and Professional Simulation
- Sketch and development of final design.
- Stencil preparation and adaptation to the body.
- Final tattoo on synthetic skin or real model.
- Complete simulation of real work environment.

Yes, we offer online tattoo courses in English , so you can train from anywhere in the world. If you prefer in-person classes, you can come to our headquarters in Barcelona.
What kind of materials and machines are used in the course?
In the course, we work with high-quality professional equipment, the same ones tattoo artists use in their daily sessions. From wireless machines to needles, inks, grips, hectographic paper, and synthetic leather, you'll become familiar with real tools from day one, gaining confidence and skill with each practice.
What if I have questions or need support after the course?
We know that learning doesn't end when the course finishes. That's why we stay in touch with our students through private groups, WhatsApp, and email. You can ask technical questions, inquire about materials, share your progress, or even request feedback on new designs or tattoos you're working on.
